About Clyde

Adoption Fee: $50
Rottweiler mix
Age: Puppy
Sex: Male

Clyde has been with us for the last week. He was found by my dtrs BF at the end of a deserted road in Corpus Christi. They called us because we have 2 rotties of our own. He was so scared that he wouldn't even walk when he was found. He would just take a few steps at a time then lie back down. He has obviously been w/o food for awhile, his rib cage is showing & he is emancipated. We took him to our Vet before we brought him home. He weighed 70 lbs & the vet says he is between 18 mos & 2 years. He was scanned for a chip & didn't have one. He tested (light positive) for HW & has been started on monthly HW medication. He was also wormed & started on an antibiotics for a wound on his front Rt paw. By the time we left the vet he was able to jump in the back of our SUV. I think he was afraid he was going to be left again. Poor baby. He is so loving & warmed up to me quickly but he took a little longer to warm up to my husband but now will quickly go to him when called. I think a male must have been mean to him. He has a good nature about him & for him being a male that is not yet fixed he gets along with our 2 females well. He submits to the older Rottie that we have and tolerates our younger one that gets 'mad easily & thinks she is the queen'! He walks like a horse, thus the name was changed to Clyde. LOL He is very musculature & will be a big boy when grown. He has double dew claws that the vet says suggest possible shepherd, lab or great pyrenees mix. ??? There is another dog I looked up that he looks like as well...A breed I'm not familiar with. Beauceron. He is not house trained. I kept him inside during the recent cold nights but he has been sleeping outside on the porch at night. I bring him inside off & on during the day & play with him outside as well. He loves to play ball & frisbee. And...he loves to eat!! He has gained weight this last week & looks alot better. He walks with his head up & has a proud stance. He will make someone a good dog who has the time to train & work with him. He is so loving & sweet & loves attention! I'm not sure how he would be around children, there have not been any here this last week. I really think he would be fine. He has a gentle nature. He is just a puppy and is bounding & hopping all over the place when he is happy. We cant keep him because we already have 2 large rotties. I also have an outside cat (my husband is allergic) that he chases so that's another reason we cant keep him here. I hope he finds a wonderful home. His start in life has obviously been rough. He needs a forever home & someone to love him. We will be starting his first shots this next week. He also is very smart. Has already learned to stay out of the kitchen & how to sit on command. I have a crate that I bought to do house-training with that will go with him when he is adopted. Please consider this puppy. He will be a great companion!
