About Katie

Hi, I'm Katie - Adult Female Katie was trapped from a colony in a trailer park in Lexington Park. Her caretaker is in her 80's and is of ill health. Because Katie already weighed 4 lbs it was decided that she would be ear tipped and returned to her colony. She is now 6 months old. We were afraid that she would probably outlive her caretaker and then what would happen to her. Her foster mom did not have the heart to put her back in her colony so then began the daunting task to tame her. We normally take in kittens under two pounds so this was quite a challenge. Katie was also quite sick at first and it took a few weeks for her stomach to improve but she is now doing very well and is quite healthy. She has improved incredibly. She loves to sleep with her foster mom. If Katie is sitting somewhere, her foster mom can go pick her up and sit Katie on her lap and pet her. Katie enjoys this and has a big purr motor. Katie is not going over to her foster mom yet but if she had more one on one attention she will continue to become friendlier. Sometimes she will even come when called.
