About Buddy

Buddy is an approximately 1 �%BD year old, 50 lb beautiful terrier mix. He was extremely shy at the shelter but has found a friend in another dog and really opened up with him around. It took him about 1 week to become best friends with us and now he leans in for affection and seeks our approval. We want to place Buddy in a home with another dog as he truly loves his canine friends. He would greatly benefit from another canine companion in the home, preferably a playful but balanced female who can teach Buddy how to doggie and also that people are not so scary after all. We recommend a home with older teenaged children who understand to go slow and let Buddy come to them at his own pace. Buddy has met our cats and was calm and wagged his tail in a friendly manner so we think he'd do just fine with felines. Buddy walks well on leash and is extremely willing to please, so he responds well to any slight correction. He will need a patient home and people who understand that initially shy dogs will open up after they feel comfortable, and that the wait will be completely worth it.
