About Wags

Welcome Wags to CCPAL Rescue. Wags is a 1-year old High mix or pure Labrador. He weighs about 55 pounds and looks to be a good weight. Wags was at Kerr County and they called us with an out of space issue plea. CCPAL stood up for 4 of their big dogs. Wags was one of the group of dogs they took in. Wags was surrendered because he humped a thing or two. Well what do you think a boy dog with balls will do? Yes, they want to procreate. Instead of neutering him they sent him to the high-kill shelter where they were out of space. He had hours left before he was going to be euthanized. Well we have him now and he is safe. We can see they probably got him from a breeder and didn't work with him. He tugs on leash and doesn't seem to know any commands at the moment. We will be working on his leash manners and the sit command. He is super playful and high energy. He will do best with some family that has time to work with him and maybe you are a runner, hiker or outdoorsy person he could join. He would also do good in a doggy daycare setting as he loves to play and is good with other dogs. He would be good with a family and I would say 7 or older due to his size and energy may knock down the smaller ones. He has a scenting quality and puts his nose to the ground a lot. He may be a good bird retrieving dog. He has never been trained but we are just looking at his qualities to describe them to you. He would do well with someone willing to put some time in training or willing to do a puppy class with him. He is a head turner and looks to be a pure or almost pure-bred Labrador.
