About Mackie

What a handsome boy, and Mackie kind of knows it, he can really strut. Well, maybe not so much of a strut but a spirited walk. Mackie is an energetic guy that likes to be on top of things, keeping and eye out for any sort of playtime, low flying birds, or people that may need some attention! Mac does great with the other dogs and enjoys having buddies but he also tries to assert himself on occasion, just to test the waters. He is a very smart boy and will try to push things to get his way, he will need a person/family that understand this and will be a confident owner so MAc does not decide to take charge. I am not implying he is aggressive, he is not, he is just a very intelligent boy that will take advantage given the chance. He may be better around older kids that understand dogs a bit more. He has been great in our home, very well mannered, had a couple of incidents over food that was easily corrected. He will do well with a dog savvy, active home, he will not do well being left alone for long hours. This is the kind of dog that sails off the deck stairs in a single bound, flies thru the yard and wants to run laps. He will be a great hiking partner, a person that loves the outdoors and wants a great companion. Mackie is just 3 years old and a leggy 20 pounds. His adoption fee is $275.
