Clifford has a big personality and is full of border collie energy. He LOVES every person he meets and just wants to play and get all the lovings. Belly rubs win over his sweet heart. There was no way this boy should spend his days fettered. Now, he is looking for that special home. Life on a chain caused Clifford to miss out on important socialization opportunities, so he has trouble interpreting doggie communication. While interested in play with other dogs, he becomes easily overstimulated and misreads other canine intentions. Therefore, Clifford needs to be the ONLY family dog or do life with an experienced trainer. Clifford is house trained, and crates well. He is learning to ring a bell at the door to go out, or he will let you know by grabbing his leash. Clifford is quick to respond to correction, and knows sit, down, and lay. Young Clifford needs someone patient, gentle and consistent to give him correction and teach him boundaries. Clifford's over-enthusiasm causes him to jump up and occasionally mouth. While this can be re-directed and isn't unusual for a young pup, a home with no children or children over 6 is ideal for him. Outdoors, Clifford is all play and go! This curious canine is learning to retrieve and return tossed toys. Indoors, Clifford will entertain himself with toys, bones, and balls; tossing, catching, or chasing them. He's an ideal candidate for a hiking or running companion. This lively, loving lad is looking for active Forevers, with no little ones, or none under 6.
