About Mama (Myrtle)

Adoption Fee: $25
Domestic Cat
Age: Adult
Sex: Female

Sweet mama... formally known as Fertile Myrtle Mama (now spayed and no longer Fertile)! Mama Is extremely shy and quiet. I found her as a stray feral outside about 3 years ago. A year ago I brought her indoors to live with me and she would do well at being an indoors only cat. Age: 5 years old (according to vet) Mama Has been living indoors with me and 3 other cats (all 3 are her babies, 2 males and 1 female). Although shy, she does love to PLAY with various cat toys, enjoys rolling around in a pile of catnip, and chases around cat nip filled wands, if you catch her in the right mood (usually between 1am-4am). She loves to play tag and chase the other cats that live in the house with me (all 3 are her babies from previous litters). She seems to get along better with females than males; Both in human and cats. She is allowed outdoors whenever she likes. She has had her rabies vaccine. She is NOT declawed. I have administered dewormers but she still seems to have some GI issues with severe belly bloating, and loose stools. I believe she has some major health issues but I have not had the finances to have her thoroughly evaluated by a veterinarian yet. Seeing as she was feral, she may have FIV. She had been living outdoors for the first 3 years of her life. I found out she was pregnant February 2018, and brought her indoors immediately and out of the frigid cold and snow. I fed her and let her sleep in my apartment as she prepares for her pregnancy, and I helped her in raising 2 litters before I was able to get her fixed (in March 2019). An odd quirk about a Mama: She doesn't really have the ability to meow normally. She is VERY quiet when she does 'speak', is often skittish, on high alert, runs to hide if you move too fast near her, but still she seems to like being around me or in the same room... just so long as it's not TOO close to me! SLOW hand and body movements are super crucial when approaching and interacting with her. I am unable to keep her along with one of her babies (age: 1 year, male). If anyone can help me in finding a home for them... for shy mama as well as her son, who is somewhat shy but has been socialized and has been around humans from his birth (although his first few weeks of life were spent outdoors as I had left mama back outside and she unfortunately became pregnant almost immediately). Little gray dude (AKA Noosa, due to his obsession with YOGURT!), allows me to pet him most of the time. He is not a dominant or confrontational male. He would likely do best in a home with no other animals or cats. Having 4 cats, he doesn't get enough attention and I know he craves it and loves to be pet whenever I walk in the door. But he has two more dominant cars to contend with for my love and affection unfortunately. He's sensitive, handsome, and He deserves to be in a home where he can bask in the attention that he deserves. He also has a very unique coat of fur! It's extremely soft! Quite different texture than the fur of his siblings. Any help or guidance would be very thankful! Thanks! For taking the time to read this. -Ashley-
