About JACKSON

Lab / Pointer
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

House-trained Yes Health Vaccinations up to date, spayed / neutered. Good in a home with Other dogs, children. Adoption fee $300.00 Meet Jackson Jackson is a lovely 2.4-3 year old lab mix, estimated to be 60-65 pounds. In his prior situation, he was kept in a crate in a hoarding situation. When help was brought in, he was not able to be touched for 2 days and would not let anyone take him out of his crate. He was said to be 'aggressive' however, he was simply scared out of his mind. I spent 15 mins with him, and was able to get a leash on him and put him in my car. He has since settled in nicely at our house. It was stated that he was 'aggressive' towards people and other dogs, however we have not seen evidence of either. He is quite submissive with people. He is a bit head shy, however as long as you move quietly and slowly around his head and collar, he is a dream. He loves to be scratched behind his ears. Jackson is house trained and crate trained. He gets along wonderfully with our entire pack of 8 foster dogs, of various ages, genders and activity levels. He prefers to play outside with the puppies, as he loves to romp and play! He enjoys playfully roughhousing with the younger dogs, however is appropriately respectful of the older dogs. In the house, he is relatively quiet and enjoys relaxing on the couch with my husband and myself. I would recommend a home with older children only, as Jackson can be head shy, and with his unknown history combined with his fear of sudden movements around his head, I would not feel comfortable recommending him to a home with younger children. We feed him with a slow feeder maze bowl. Without it, he tends to gobble his food so quickly that he makes himself sick. He has not gotten sick once since beginning to use the slow feeder bowl. Jackson is truly a wonderful dog! He will make a wonderful addition to someone's home. I let him out with my pack (7 other dogs) and he does fine. Stays away from the dominant dogs and plays with the playful ones. This pup is in foster care in SC. The adoption fee is $300. Rescue will transport out of state to the right home. Additional transport fee may apply. FOR MORE INFORMATION CONTACT [email protected] with SAVE THE LABS RESCUE. THANK YOU FOR CARING AND PLEASE SHARE FAR AND WIDE.
