Snoopy is a pure bred, rough coat/curly haired saint bernard that weighs 160+ pounds. He came to us as an owner surrender from Compton, California. He is young, all puppy, sweet and energetic and has a wiggle-butt that became an issue in the home with a baby learning to walk. The family no giant bred experience and the lack of training, cost of care and size forced to find Snoopy a better home. It was reported from the previous owner that his front right paw was caught in a crate as a puppy and it was not addressed at a vet so, he has a limp when he walks. It doesn't seem to cause him any pain or slow him down as he runs and plays like any other puppy. We are having him neutered on 11/4 and will take X-rays to make sure there is no medical intervention required. Snoopy is always happy and kind of a bull in a China shop as he has the cutest little wiggle waggle when he walks and is excited. He doesn't jump, hes great with children, and all other dogs, does well with cats. He is slightly submissive to males his size and has shown zero signs of aggression with food, toys or play. But, he does tend to try to mount other females in his foster home. We believe this will stop with correction and being neutered. We are working on his basic skills. He takes treats very easily and doesn't nip finger and loves to lean against you for affection. He truly just wants to be one of the pact. He does very good on leash but should have someone who can consistently work on his leash skills. He is a stubborn one as most saints are but, has the potential to be an incredible member of the family. We are working on crate training and he is potty trained. He is still growing so, we expect him to get much bigger. Snoopy should go to a home with older children, unless you have extensive saint experience due to his size and wiggle-butt. The lion cut on his rear end tail is because he was extremely matted and had to be shaved. His fur and hair will grow back! We desperately need fosters to help save more lives!
