About Jax

Hi! My name is Jax! I am house broken, low maintenance, listen well, and I LOVE spending time outside. I enjoy keeping watching over my house and monitoring passerby's; I have protected my foster family from many things, like squirrels, airplanes, clouds, and plastic bags. I was a stray for six months, so I do have some trust issues and anxiety. My foster parents have given me my very own room with a queen size bed to sleep on every night. I really like having my own space to go to when I feel overwhelmed and need time to decompress. My anxiety has been improving in the well structured foster home I am in now, but I still have my moments, especially in the mornings or before bedtime when I am tired. I give a lot of signals to other dogs and my foster parents when I need my alone time; thankfully they respect my boundaries. I would do best in a home that afforded me that same respect. I really enjoy the company of female dogs who are easy going and read my signals when I have had enough play time. My foster sister does a great job giving me plenty of space when I get 'grumpy.' I am not food aggressive and take treats really nicely; my foster mom always compliments me on gentleness. I would not do well in a home with young children or puppies, as they make me really uncomfortable. I also do not like the kennel. I like to meet new people on my own time; once I feel comfortable around you, we'll be best friends for life. I enjoy cuddles, kisses, hand shakes and high fives, belly rubs or acting goofy with those I trust. My foster mom says I am a very special boy with a big heart. I would do best a in quiet, calm house that respects my boundaries and provides me plenty of structure. I would do best as a single dog or with a friendly, submissive female dog. Cats unknown. After being homeless for six months, I found out what a loving, caring home can provide, and hopefully that can continue with you!
