About Sheila

Adoption Fee: $395
Jack Russell / Dachshund
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

This is one of our babies from a hoarding case in South Texas. For some reason we have received about 15 dogs in the past month for four different hoarding cases...why do so many people feel the need to hoard animals? Well, this is Sheila. In the first picture you can see every single bone in her little body. She was one of the lucky ones who made it out alive. The majority of the dogs found in this hoarding case unfortunately didn't make it because they were so emaciated and neglected. She is a survivor and a fighter. It has been about a month since Sheila was saved from this horrific situation, and look at her now! No more bones. She is a happy, healthy, sweet little girl who is ready to find her forever home. She weighs about 14lbs and is just perfect. Here is what her foster mom has to say about her: 'Sheila is very smart, and I don't say that about all my dogs. She learned the doggy door and stairs very quickly and she alerts me if she thinks one of my other dogs is in distress. For example, I accidentally left Bentley outside the other day (only for like 5 minutes though) and she ran to the back door over and over to get my attention to let him in. She is a very active and very well behaved little girl. She loves her toys and can occupy herself playing with her toys all day. I think she would really enjoy a family with another dog the same size or a little bigger than her. She seems to want to play with my dogs but my dogs don't really play. She becomes more and more cuddly every day, and has really become trusting of us. She has NEVER had an accident in the house, and is really truly the perfect dog. She is still a little nervous on a leash but has made progress! Gosh, if I could keep this girl I would, she deserves nothing less than the most perfect family.'
