About Blitz

Lab mix
Age: Young Puppy
Sex: Male

Blitz is the perfect Lab mix-sweet, affectionate, and playful. He loves people and other dogs, and even does great with toddlers. He is about 16 weeks old and weighs 11 lbs, but the vet thinks he is mixed with a small breed so he will stay the perfect size for snuggling! He has outgrown his puppy nibbling phase, but he loves toys. He is more timid than his brother Boone but loves to play with the other dogs as they race and roll in the yard. He has gotten excited about his walks and he is learning good leash manners. He is gentle with his foster bunny brother so he may do well in a home with cats or other small pets. Potty training is going excellent, but he needs to go out often because he prefers to keep a clean crate. He is content in a play fence or crate but what he loves is to be cuddled up next to someone. His brother Boone is his bestie, but he bonds quickly to people and other fur friends. He loves to run and jump, so he would excel in an agility class. While he loves to be praised, he is also very treat motivated. He would be fine as the only dog, but a canine buddy could help him to be his most confident, happy self. Illinois law requires that all of our dogs and puppies be spay/neutered within 30 days of adoption. In order to fully comply with this regulation and reduce the number of homeless dogs and puppies, we do not permit out of state adoptions of unaltered dogs or puppies. Puppies have special needs and require a home where there will be someone available to care for, socialize, and train them during the day. If your family is away from the home for several hours at a time, please consider adopting a 'teen' or adult dog. Our standard adoption fee is $295 cash or check and $300 credit card ($5 processing fee). It includes spay/neuter when age appropriate at our participating vets, age appropriate core vaccinations, fecal testing, deworming, flea and tick preventative,1st vet visit at one of our participating vets, and micro-chipping. We must have an application, conduct a phone interview, and meet your entire family to approve an adoption. Please email [email protected] for an application or additional details. Please note that the breeds and sizes posted in this biography are educated best guesses and are not guaranteed.
