About Baby Boone

Lab mix
Age: Young Puppy
Sex: Male

Boone is a loving, cuddly, energetic Lab mix who can't get enough time with people and other dogs. He is about 16 weeks old and weighs 12 lbs, but the vet thinks he is mixed with a small breed so he will stay the perfect size for cuddling! He has outgrown his puppy nibbling phase, and he just loves children, even toddlers. He has no fear, and gets right in the middle of play time with his huge foster brother. He loves to run, so a fence or training would help keep him safe, and he is learning good leash manners. While his puppy energy can be a bit overwhelming for his foster bunny brother, his prey drive seems low so he would likely do fine in a home with cats or other small pets. Potty training is coming easy to him, but he needs to go out often. He does great in a crate and play fence, but loves his time with the family. He is a leader, and always gives his brother Blitz the confidence to try new things. He loves to run and jump, so he would excel in an agility class. While he enjoys his treats, he seems 'praise motivated.' He would do fine as the only dog, but he loves companions so he would also make an excellent addition to your pack! Illinois law requires that all of our dogs and puppies be spay/neutered within 30 days of adoption. In order to fully comply with this regulation and reduce the number of homeless dogs and puppies, we do not permit out of state adoptions of unaltered dogs or puppies. Puppies have special needs and require a home where there will be someone available to care for, socialize, and train them during the day. If your family is away from the home for several hours at a time, please consider adopting a 'teen' or adult dog. Our standard adoption fee is $295 cash or check and $300 credit card ($5 processing fee). It includes spay/neuter when age appropriate at our participating vets, age appropriate core vaccinations, fecal testing, deworming, flea and tick preventative,1st vet visit at one of our participating vets, and micro-chipping. We must have an application, conduct a phone interview, and meet your entire family to approve an adoption. Please email [email protected] for an application or additional details. Please note that the breeds and sizes posted in this biography are educated best guesses and are not guaranteed.
