About Marie

Meet little Marie! Marie is a beautiful little seal point siamese girl about 9 months old, in search of her loving forever home. She is spayed, microchip, up to date on her shots and combo tested negative. She is very petite and may not even be fully grown yet. We suspect she is a purebred 'breeder' dump from her bone structure and body size and shape. When she was about seven months old, she ended up in a Houston shelter, heavily pregnant and was put on the euthanasia list for space. Kitten season is still overwhelming and most are killed for space because every rescue and foster is full to overflowing. Something about her eyes wouldn't let us not help her. She is named after the lady who took her in while we were waiting for transportation. Dee volunteered her master bedroom closet as the only space we had at the time that was free. She was so pregnant that when our friend and rescue partner Mateo drove some cats to Houston and picked her up from human Marie there, he was afraid she would have her kittens in his truck. She gave birth 3 days later in Dee's closet. Then graduated to a small room and a few weeks ago into the living room. She is a great mom. Still a bit fearful of humans, she will need a patient adopter who will be happy to take things at her pace and continue her socialization. During her breaks from the kittens she plays and acts like the kitten she still is herself. She loves to jump, chase, climb, play soccer with the musical bells...she runs around our climbing shelves like a fast train, jumping and thumping and chasing the kittens. Two of her kittens have already been pre-adopted and two are available for pre-adoption, Midnight and Snoopy. Our rescue is located in New Braunfels, Texas which is where most of our cats are being fostered unless stated otherwise. Transportation to most of the US can be arranged but please note we tend to prioritize instate adoptions and travel to northeast and midwest due to the number of volunteer drivers on those routes. We do not transport to Florida or California due to the high number of homeless Siamese already located there. Transportation fees would include the cost of a travel carrier, a few basic supplies for the trip (about $70) and a veterinarian's health certificate (about $89). If adopting 2 cats they may be able to share a carrier and certificate. Transport within state can also be arranged with volunteers for the cost of a travel crate and a modest donation for gas money. None of our cats have been tested around dogs or small children but unless otherwise stated all our cats or kittens can live with other cats provided the correct slow introduction process is followed. We provide information on animal integrations prior to adoption. A minimum donation is required as part of each adoption, which is a contribution towards routine veterinary costs (including spay/neuter surgery, microchip, flea/worm meds), non-routine vet costs (antibiotics), food, litter and other care costs while the cats and kittens are with us.
