[Read About Natural Seizure Care] *We've had Neville for 9 years this May.* About 5 years in, he began having severe epileptic seizures. After years of seizures, with no help via medication or CBD oil, we changed his food and VOILA - seizures slowed dramatically. We can't even recall the last time he had one. However, we do believe the seizures changed him. (Though we have no clinical diagnosis for this.) He has always been more high strung than his sister, Sookie, but two years ago our issues with him truly came to a head. We got a private trainer. We got a second trainer. We had ample talks with the vet. We chatted with his kennel owner (who adores that little 'black & white' when Neville comes to stay and has never had issues with him.) We have friends following a very specific protocol for entering the house - which has worked wonderfully. BUT, after an incident last week, we have finally decided that our home, and specifically where it is located (busy East 2nd Street) is just too stimulating for Neville. And thus, we are looking to rehome him. ~ He needs a home that is NOT on a busy, community street - one where he doesn't feel the need to protect the house so vigorously, and yet WILL if in a rural community where one may want a dog to enthusiastically alert for visitors. Neville acts like a guard dog. We just can't have that HERE. ~ We also feel he needs to be separated from Sookie - who is a such a dear, sweet dog - but furiously protected by her brother. We are having a hard time finding a humane shelter for Neville, for he isn't near death, nor is he an ongoing dangerous threat, though unpredictable. Thus, our protocol within the house is set up to avoid over-stimulation with visitors. And it works. Neville calms within moments of following our plan when people visit. And yet, the stress on him is just too much - and unfair for him to endure. And unfair for guests who have to follow strict rules for entering. Neville would be great in a ONE DOG living situation. He would also be great in a more RURAL living situation where he doesn't feel compelled to guard the door, but will ALERT when someone comes by. A fenced yard would be ideal for Neville. Again, he is healthy. He is trainable. He just doesn't flourish in this situation any longer.
