About Apollo

Apollo is about 5 years old. Is current on Rabies but unknown on everything else. He is 65 lbs and most of the time isn't aware of his size! He gets along with most other dogs. The only ones I have seen him get aggressive with are un-neutered males exerting dominance (the other dog gets aggressive first). Not sure about other animals but he doesn't hurt the ducks, squirrels, or cats in our area. He is not territorial over his food or toys, my 6 year old granddaughter can easily take away his food as he is eating without a growl. He is ok with small children, going back to not being aware of his size, if he gets excited playing with children, he may knock them over or paw too roughly. Once he gets to know you, he loves being cuddled and tummy rubs. He knows sit and lay down. He is crate trained, as long as you throw a treat in there first, and will stay quietly in his crate all night. He is an outdoor dog, but when he is in the house, he has no accidents and isn't trying to get on all the furniture. He pulls on walks for at least the first 1/4 mile then settles down. History: We have had him for a year. We took him in from a family that was sent to pastor in another city. They had him his entire life. The family had 5 small children. My teenage daughter didnt want him going to the shelter when they were moving so she offered to take him. He needs a home where his owner will spend lots of time with him. He is really smart and his new owner needs to nurture that. I am in no rush to 'be rid of him' and will be selective about his new home.
