About Dobbs

Meet Dobbs! Don't let his sweet, precious, adorable, puppy face fool you, this guy is NOT for the faint of heart. Dobbs is a HIGH energy dog and will need an ACTIVE and EXPERIENCED dog owner. Dobbs will need a strong leader who will set boundaries for him. He is a great little dog, but didn't have the best start in life. He was dumped on someones property and his foster mom had to set a live trap in order to catch him. He warmed up much quicker than we expected, and was up on the couch cuddling within ten minutes of us bringing him home. Dobbs has some crate and separation anxiety that were pretty severe when he first came to us. We have worked with him on these issues, but it will be something his new owners will need be aware of and continue to work with him on. He will thrive in a home where he has room to run, and will not do well in an apartment type setting due to his crate anxiety. Dobbs needs an owner that is super active, and wants not only a running buddy, but also a dog to train with. He loves to go on runs, and he LOVES toys. Dobbs wants to be as close to you as possible on the couch, but also always has toy in his mouth ready for you to throw it! He is go, go, go!! He would make an amazing sport dog (agility anyone!?!?) for someone who was willing to work with his obedience and basic manners. Dobbs wants and NEEDS a job!!! He learns very quickly, and needs plenty of mental stimulation to go along with the exercise requirements he will need to be happy (as he will be destructive when he's bored.) We are guesstimating him to be around 3 years old, but it's hard to say for sure. He is neutered, microchipped, and UTD on vax, flea/tick and HW preventions.
