About Calliecat

World's saddest cat. Why? We got a call from the Coroner. 2 Cats were guarding their dead human mama. She had died in her sleep. These 2 cats would not let anyone near her and they were crying out soooo loud when we arrived to the scene. so pitiful, but we pulled them off the body and brought them to the rescue. We don't typically do cats as we are allergic, so we have no cats inside! Callie and her sister (who died 3 days later from grief) yes, Callie had to watch and endure this death also) had always been together since birth, raised by a single, handicapped woman who never left that apartment. These cats had never even been outdoors! Now poor Calliecat has nobody, lost all she had within 72 hours and fears everything about outside living. She has been here since April with no interest from anyone to help her. Cold weather is coming, and she is currently outside on the deck. She finally lets us pet her, and she is very sweet, but she hates the barn cats that are here and she has made a slight friendship with one of the dogs. She is old, sad, and needs very little in her remaining life except to be indoors and a little bit of attention and love. We will be happy to provide you with food needed for her. She has not been vetted while here, but seems healthy, good appetite, and she has quit hiding. I am hoping to find her a good final home where she can rest up, and relax, stay warm and hopefully love again.
