About Rosie

Boxer / Bulldog
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

This is a tough one. Rosie was part of a cruelty case and was confiscated from her owner; she was held at a shelter for two months as 'evidence' prior to being released to us. This poor girl was found in a cardboard toy box on a porch (top left picture) and the owner claimed she forgot she had her. Rosie weighed just 24 lbs., had a fractured tail and was in very bad shape. The shelter vet estimated her age was 2-4 years old and was miraculously able to save her; best of all, she has put on weight (currently at 60 lbs.). The only medical issue remaining is a cherry eye, and dry eye for which she is receiving artificial tears. Once the cherry eye is repaired, we are hopeful her eye will resume normal tear production. Regardless of her past history, in true doggie fashion, Rosie is as sweet as can be; she loves kids and is housebroken and crated trained. She has not been thoroughly dog tested, but she did live with one prior to coming to us. You can probably tell, but the three pictures above the line are 'before' shots and the two below are 'after' shots. If you are interested in adopting Rosie and showing her how wonderful life can be, please complete our online adoption application at boxerarc.org. Rosie is located in Jacksonville, FL.
