Fancy is what I am calling her because that old Reba song popped in my head when I saw her. I was mentoring a new hunter for the Ky Dept of Fish and Wildlife and returned to the hunt headquarters to find someone brought this dog back from their hunt that day. There was no owner data on the collar and no one at the hunt wanted her, so being a dog lover I couldn't just keave her there. Update as of today, second day I have been fostering her... (1) she is not chipped (2) vet agrees she's a bluetick coondog (3) she rides like a chapion, have had her in the truck for all our travels which has been about 7hrs total in 2 days (4) she is house trained (5) she has not made a peep, not a whimper much less a bark (6) she just stood perfectly still for me to trim her nails (not paying the vet for things I can do myself) (7) I've not heard from the woman who caught her or anyone else that had an excuse not to take her (8) If I were a coon hunter or lived outside the city I'd just keep her. She is a pretty thing. If someone want's her and cannot really afford the first vet bill I will pay it for you. I think she's perfectly fine, but you never know and you need to get her fixed.
