About Penelope

Adoption Fee: $150
Domestic Cat
Age: Adult
Sex: Female

I have a kitty named Penelope I adopted from Ft. Worth animal shelter a few years ago. She came to me with a broken pelvis and other issues after she was struck by a car. She has now completely healed. However we discovered not long after having her that she has a condition called Pemphigus Erythematosus. Or PE. Essentially she is allergic to the sun and UV lighting. Thus she cannot lay in windows or go outdoors and you have to use LED Lighting. This has not been an issue for us, and in the rare event of a flair up her medication is inexpensive and she takes it without any fuss at all. She also requires a trip to the groomer twice a year but this is inexpensive as well. However Penelope does NOT like other cats and I have others. Thus she is confined to a single (large) room in the house. This is no life for her. I'd like to try to find someone who is willing to adopt her. She tolerates dogs IF they ignore her, she doesn't like them sniffing her etc. She HATES other cats and will even bully them. Another fact about Penelope is that she isn't the most social feline. While she will engage with you some I believe she was abused prior to me or had some sort of negative association with people. Thus she really doesn't like being touched. Though she will lay with you and talk to you. Asking for food etc. Penelope is spayed, utd on rabies, microchipped, flea tick and worm free. Reliably uses the litter box (pine pellets). Penelope will come with her litter box, food dish, food, vet and shot records, adoption contract, and any other things that go with her. There is a small fee to ensure she goes to a good home who can handle and is understanding to her needs.
