Ben could be that dream come true pup for retirees who love spending their time with a cottony-soft, super-loving and very sweet companion. There's no question that Ben would also do well with a younger family with gentle kids who enjoy the fun and positive energy that a sweet and very loving little dog brings to a family. Ben has had a hard life without lots of love and nurturing...but not for him to be negative or sad. Farfel's is very committed to placing Ben with a family that derives great joy from showering a beautiful and sweet dog with nothing but nurturing, love and kindness. Once comfortable, Ben really enjoys playing and is so entertaining in his antics, positive energy and the pure love that lives inside the heart of this wonderful guy. Ben's story is all too common in his extremely close call to being relinquished to a scary New Mexico high-kill shelter....but who could ignore his adorable manner, gorgeous looks and the huge potential he has? Our compassionate rescuer recognized all these wonderful qualities in Ben and brought him to safety. Farfel's was contacted and we were thrilled to accept Ben into our rescue. Ben can be initially unsure ..but give him just a short time (a soft belly rub and yummy treats are helpful) and he inches just a bit closer to a welcoming lap. Before you know it he's gently loving you with a soft kiss and a happily wagging tail. Ben's awesome New Mexico rescuer is certain that there is a home out there that will love, respect and make this little guy a permanent member of their family. Ben will do well with a family who's invested in spending time with their pup. He's so pleasant and portable that he can be a part of any adventure....it can be a leisurely walk or long hike, a visit with friends, a car ride, vacation or just an afternoon spending time together plopped down on the couch - all of this would speak to Ben's excellent temperament. We aren't open to a home where everyone spends their days working full-time outside of the home....we'd like Ben to get more time and attention than is possible with that lifestyle. We've requested that Ben be neutered prior to his arrival in Colorado. This is often not possible due to the limited number of vets in this industrial area of New Mexico and the vast number of dogs. If his neutering doesn't occur prior to transport, Farfel's will be happy to cover all costs for his neuter and microchip if one of our rescue vets is used.
