About Dora

Meet Dora ��� - (A few days of love and caring does so much for any living being) Dora is a is an 8-10 year old blind Cocker Spaniel Mix. She came into Rowan County Animal Shelter as a stray. To say she needed grooming is an UNDERSTATEMENT (see pictures-we're not sure she has EVER been groomed). One of our transporters picked her up for us and she is currently safe with one of fosters. #fosterssavelives She was very skittish to begin with which is no surprise. We took her to I'm in Doggy Heaven where the owner where James Castonguay once again did an amazing job at no cost to the rescue, his way of 'paying it forward'. Thank you so much James from Dora AND Team FSCA! ��� Dora currently weighs 18 lbs. She walks good on a leash with a harness. She is great with kids (10 and up). She is blind is heartworm positive (and we are doing slow kill treatment on her which is far less invasive and will cause no side effects at all). Per the vet, she also currently has eye infections, an ear infection, a skin infection, and asevere UTI (she has medications and is being treated for everything. She is already feeling and acting so much better. That matted fur was so binding and hurtful. She will make someone a great addition. We think her best fit would be a quiet home. Her blindness doesn't slow her down. She actually learned the layout really quickly in her new environment. She is crate/house trained. Sadly, she can't tell us her past, but we want to ensure she has the best rest of her life possible, which she more than deserves.
