Courtesy Posting: Aurora and Orion Indiana Private Party 2 GORGEOUS PB CHOWS THAT WERE TO BE PTS BY ORIGINAL OWNER IN INDIANA AND THEN ADOPTED STILL NEED A NEW HOME, NEED TO BE SEPARATED- WHO CAN HELP!? People may remember these two gorgeous 8 year old chows (Aurora and Orion) whose owner was ill in Indiana, and could not keep them and was planning to put them to sleep (she did not want to bring them to a shelter). We thought they were fairly bonded per the former owner, and someone in Illinois with another male chow adopted them. Well, it turns out this pair is not as bonded as we were told. At times, they do love each other, but other times get into little fights, and not just over food. Additionally, Orion the male, has gone after the new owner's other male chow, so they cannot possibly keep him unfortunately. We are recommending that Orion be placed in a home where he is the only dog for now. Both dogs previously lived with a smaller dog, and maybe he or she would be okay with them or the opposite sex, it is unclear. As for Aurora, we are finding out she is very scared still of men, and therefore the new owner's husband. They are trying to see if she can stay with them, and they are doing slow introductions to her own male chow, but ideally, it would be best to find a new home for her too, preferably where she can be the only dog as well. She is the dominant over Orion and apparently the instigator of fights. With the situation of the two chows fighting has been escalating, the new owner contacted us today about the problem, so the sooner we can find new homes or a rescue for each, the better before anyone or any dogs get hurt. Please contact [email protected] or Heidi at [email protected] for further info or if you can help in some way. Please note we will be getting more good pictures and video and will post those on facebook. Previously, we had posted videos with the original owner here: https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=2429299733818103&id=100002143011611.
