Hi I'm Dixie! I am a 2 year old Coonhound. I am very sweet but am timid as I was likely neglected or abused in the past. I am coming out of my shell slowly. with the staff at my shelter and one of the volunteers I have created a great bond with. I seem to do best in quiet, outdoor environments. I have to be a primarily-inside dog since I want to be part of the family, but I would love a backyard where I can explore and spend some quiet time exploring. I need a calm, patient family to help me come out of my shell. I wouldn't mind having a doggy sibling to help show me the world is safe.
