About Ivory-ADOPTION PENDING

Corgi / Lab
Age: Young Puppy
Sex: Female

There's nothing quite like puppy energy and silliness...and then they lie quietly on your shoulder breathing their warm doggie breath. These dogs are so pure and vulnerable that it's unbearable to think that they're homeless and in a high-kill shelter in New Mexico without any options available. A very kind and compassionate rescuer took Ivory into her home to prevent her from the horrors of life on the streets or euthanasia for space in a shelter. Her foster immediately fell in love with this very kind, sweet and loving puppy. She realized that the greatest gift she could give this beautiful girl was a transport to Colorado where she would be given every possibility for a great life. Farfel's Rescue was told about the great personality, sweetness and over- the- top beauty of this special pup and made the decision to help Ivory find her first ever forever family. She deserves a respectful and loving family just as much as any other sweet dog with a great temperament (she passed her temperament testing with flying colors..she's truly a star!) Ivory, at just about 3 months old and 12 lbs (expected to be full-grown at about 30 - 35 lbs), found herself homeless and without options in New Mexico. This sweet and engaging Labrador Retriever mixed with Corgi to attain the smaller size that's so desirable with adopters was ready and longing for a committed family. These dogs are the perfect size for both hiking, cuddling and just spending time with their people. We're seeing more and more of these crosses that are so popular for their much smaller size, gorgeous, cottony-soft coats that are so sleek and shiny and most importantly, their very engaging/loving personalities. Ivory is an excellent ambassador for this very loving mutt mix. Her gorgeous looks and dark eyes filled with so much wisdom are irresistible (we've requested new photos and will post them upon receipt). Her sweetness and silly and very fun-loving personality is perfect for a family dog and best friend. Ivory's temperament testing had excellent results and ended with a transport ticket to Colorado and a wonderful new life. Ivory is appropriately playful and inquisitive for her age. She's also bright and so sweet (loves to cuddle in your lap-but watch out..puppy energy may call). Since Ivory is a very young and happy puppy, she's a blank slate just waiting for a kind and patient human to show her the way. She has all the potential in the world to be an awesome companion. Ivory will form firm bonds with her family (as well as other dogs and humans) and learn positive socialization skills through being exposed to many different situations out in the world. Puppy kindergarten followed by group obedience level 1 classes are a great start for any dog. It does take a bit of time and commitment...yet pays off a thousand times over when you have a dog that can accompany you in the outside world with consistently excellent behavior. Since professional training is such an important element in molding the behavior of a young puppy's life, we're not open to placing Ivory with a family that isn't open to this opportunity. Farfel's is happy to provide a list of approved positive reinforcement/force free trainers in your area. We're very open to Ivory finding her forever home with active retirees who have the time and desire to love and work with a young pup. A younger family who works from home or part-time with gentle, dog-loving kids who have a desire to participate in training is perfect for Ivory as well. She'll be their very best friend and loyal companion. Ivory will be up to date on her vetting/vaccinations to be in line with our commitment to adopting out only healthy dogs. We've requested that Ivory be spayed/microchipped prior to her transport to Colorado. If this doesn't occur, Farfel's is happy to cover all costs for Ivory's spay and microchip after her arrival in Colorado if one of our rescue vets is used. Ivory is arriving on transport in Denver in Wednesday 10/23/19 . Applications are currently being accepted for our sweet girl. If interested in this gorgeous and very cuddly and loving best friend, please fill out an application completely at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ and submit. PLEASE NOTE: If you're truly interested in adopting Ivory, please be sure to submit our adoption application. It's the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving dog. We're sorry, but in most circumstances, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit an adoption application. Thanks so much for choosing rescue.
