About Peaches-PENDING!

Pug
Age: Puppy
Sex: Female

Whenever a sweet and engaging Pug gets into an urgent situation, Farfel's rescuers like to help. We find that dogs of this breed are loving, super- smart and fun-loving and silly best friends. They're known for being very bonded, loyal and devoted family companions. Peaches (once comfortable) will fit very well into a household and make an excellent best friend for all age groups as well as gentle canines. Peaches is a cuddly and very sweet Pug. The vets believe her to be a purebred...we don't know for certain, but we do know she the sweetest girl ever! Peaches is just about 18 months old and 10 lbs of pure love and silliness. Peaches (once comfortable in her environment) is very puppyish in her enthusiasm for all people that are kind to her. She has a love of life and positive attitude that warms the heart. After all, his very deserving girl has never had a loving and nurturing family to call her own. She has been a victim of circumstance in her life. Farfel's Rescue is committed to changing this circumstance for this dog that has so much to offer to a committed and dog-crazy family. Rescue dogs can initially be a bit shy or nervous..this is expected in light of the very long transports and stresses of rehoming. When an adopting family is sensitive to the challenges of change and acclimation for these dog's, the transition is far easier. A home with a very loving and nurturing family that understands that blossoming takes time would be perfect. Socialization, pure love and belly rubs is a gift to a dog that is undergoing a life change. Given the time and space, these dogs shine. Peaches is one of these pups that is a blank slate just waiting for the commitment of a great family. Her love will know no bounds as she becomes a best friend and very loyal companion. Group obedience training classes with a positive reinforcement trainer would truly serve both Peaches and her family (as it does every dog and their people). Together they will learn the skills to have Peaches be a companion that is well-behaved when out in the world with her people. It also creates strong bonds of respect between pup and family. We feel so strongly about the importance of professional force-free training that we're unwilling to adopt Peaches out to a family that doesn't choose this opportunity. Farfel's is happy to provide a list of positive reinforcement/force-free trainers in your area. Peaches is such a great age and size... at 18 months old, Peaches is a perfect age - young enough to be a completely blank slate open to training and new concepts while being old enough to have left many of her babyish behaviors behind. At 10 lbs, Peaches is a perfect size for long neighborhood walks (she loves to socialize), shopping or dining along Pearl Street or just hanging out at home enjoying each other's company. We envision active, dog-loving retirees as a great family for our sweet girl. She would be thrilled with the time spent together. Peaches would also do great with a younger family that works either part-time or from home to love this wonderful dog up throughout the day. Peaches enjoys kids as great playmates and night time snugglers (a bit older is desirable so no tail-pulling or awkward handling occurs) and would thrive with the fun and special kind of love that children provide. We feel that Peaches is too sensitive to spend long hours alone while her family works full-time outside of the home. Peaches has a beautiful coat that is currently shelter- sad. With a commitment to sudsy baths/brushing and great nutrition (a salmon oil supplement is a great lifelong supplement for coat care as well as longevity) Peaches's coat will be very healthy, cottony-soft and gorgeous. Peaches will be up to date on her vetting/vaccinations to be in line with our commitment to adopting out only healthy dogs. We've requested that Peaches be spayed/microchipped prior to her transport to Colorado. If this doesn't occur, Farfel's is happy to cover all costs for Peaches spay and microchip after her arrival in Colorado if one of our rescue vets is used. Peaches is arriving on transport in Denver on Wednesday 10/23 . Applications are currently being accepted for our sweet Pug. If interested in this adorable ...and very cuddly and loving best friend, please fill out an application completely at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ and submit. PLEASE NOTE: If you're truly interested in adopting Peaches, please be sure to submit our adoption application. It's the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving dog. We're sorry, but in most circumstances, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit an adoption application. Thanks so much for choosing rescue.
