About Tank

Tank is from a street dog's litter that no one wanted and was in danger from a busy highway. Mom is on site, dad we are still working on catching. Approx 8 weeks old as of 10/17/19. This puppy is the largest from the litter, very playful and will need someone experienced with puppies to make him into a great family dog. When full grown he will be small, about 15 lbs. Photo is available of mom and dad, we believe dad is a jack russell/cairn terrier mix and mom yorkie/cairn terrier mix. Puppies have been wormed and are healthy. They have had the 1st round of vaccinations. If interested in adopting please tell me about your family, why you want a dog, how you plan to care for the dog. We are a small rescue and focus on the health of the dogs we rescue. All food is homemade, no kibble. Only basic vaccinations are recommended, no flea and tick medications are required... we will teach you the easy way to keep fleas away and toxic medications from harming your new pet. We hope to find Tank the perfect home for the holidays. Please note... if you cannot accept that puppies are not a stuffed toy and require work... feeding, training... they will chew your favorite shoes, destroy the toilet paper... don't get one. They require crate training, potty training and behavior training in order to have the perfect pet. They need to be protected from small children, not treated roughly and supervised when with children of a young age. You'll also need to supervise them when outside... small dogs can be killed by large birds, large dogs, and can squeeze through the smallest cracks when bored. If you expect a child to take care of them... Don't get a dog... buy an animated toy instead. Not everyone needs a dog... if you're not ready for a child in the form of a small dog with fur and four feet please don't get one. Too many pets land right back in shelters after the holiday when people realize the mistake of being unprepared for adding a puppy to their house and imagine instead a cute present for their child. Adoption fee is $150 and includes 1st round of dhpp shots. People may not realize this but rescues do not receive any funding help from government or state. Money is often out of pocket. We strive to keep the fees low enough to enable adoptions yet also cover our costs and helping these little dogs get off the street.
