About Zoey

Zoey's human mom died recently. She had always been treated like a baby so missed basic training and socialization. This lack has made her anxious and fearful. She barks loudly at everyone and had reacted with snipping with strangers, both human and animal. She is living with 3 cats and a larger dog at this time with limited problems. Zoey exhibited food 'aggression' upon arrival, but now follows 'it' and 'wait' commands, allows placement of the food and stroking her as she eats now. She prefers to sit right next to you all of the time and loves to see everything you do especially if you might drop a crumb. Zoey loves to run with a ball in her mouth and is starting to 'leave it' so it can be thrown again and fetched. She stays by me outside unless a person or pet appears, then she acts like she is going to eat them alive. She's a sweet mess! She either needs a real ret terrier person, a pack or someone who needs a guard dog. :) Oh, Zoey has persistent allergies that require bathing every other day, Apoquel and attention to her ears (all seem to be rat terrier problems)
