About Brooklyn

Quiet, sweet Brooklyn just wants someone to shower her with love and attention to make up for her early years of neglect. This 3-year-old Rat Terrier came from a hoarding situation where she lived in poor conditions and didn't receive proper care. Now in her foster home, Brooklyn is very comfortable with women but cautious around men. She doesn't get aggressive; instead, if she encounters her foster dad or any other male, she will just leave the area and run off to her 'safe place.' However, with her foster mom, she feels secure and presents as a perfectly normal happy little dog. She loves to snuggle in bed with her foster mom and at 15 lbs., she's so very easy to snuggle with. On the other hand, she will have nothing to do with her foster dad. Brooklyn gets along great with other dogs and cats in her foster home. When she's outdoors, she is startled easily, and if she's on leash, she can bolt away and escape, so she really needs a very securely fenced yard. Brooklyn is house-trained and can be trusted to have the run of the house day and night. For the adopter who is warm, loving, and patient with her anxiety, Brooklyn is going to become one fine companion.
