Bo is a male Akbash (similar to Great Pyrenees) who was adopted in Reno, NV at age 2. His previous situation before the shelter is unknown but it seems that he was a working dog living outside based on the state he was in and his behavior. Bo is around the age of 4 now and 105lbs. He is a gentle giant that lives to be pet and cuddled on the couch. He knows basic commands but is stubborn (characteristic of the breed) and doesn't do good off leash in an area that isn't fenced in as he loves to roam and doesn't come immediately when called. He is a great adventure partner and can last hours on a hike, but he's also content sleeping most of the day. Bo loves people, especially kids; however, his guard dog traits show if men with hats or facial hair come in his home without proper introduction. Bo gets along with some dogs. He is dominant and does not do well around other dominant dogs. He needs to be properly introduced to all new dogs. He loves to run around and play when he finds a compatible friend! He should be in a home with no other dogs as he can become protective over things. Not good with cats. Overall, Bo would make a great addition to someone with a large fenced in area who will take him out on adventures often and give him constant love. He doesn't have enough room in his current living situation and all I want is the best for him.
