About Janie

Extremely urgent!! 'waiting 75 days at the shelter for your family (hoping to make it out with your life), sucks. This is the story of Adoptable Janie. Janie might be down but she's not out. She came into the shelter with an injured front leg and spent the first few weeks resting so it could start to heal. Janie was excited to get some fresh air and was fine with leashing and walking through the pavilion. I'm always amazed at how well dogs can adapt when they are injured. We went straight to the closest lot so Janie wouldn't over exert and injure herself more. Her first act was to scope out the best grass to nibble nervously on. She comes when called but I didn't ask her to show off a 'sit' or any other commands. I just willingly gave her all my treats which she took very gently. Janie allowed handling all over and stayed close to me mostly. After about 10 minutes outside, she just laid down by my feet. When I moved just a bit she got up. Janie has a great energy level and is really honed into her handler for clues. I can't wait to see her in a home with people to care for her like she deserves.
