About Abby

Poodle
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

Abby is a female toy poodle born 12/23/2016 so she is almost 3 years old now. She is full blooded toy poodle but has never been registered. I do have her litter number and she can be registered with the CKC if desired. We are unsure if she has been spayed. We hope to find out more at her next vet appointment. SPECIAL NEEDS NOTICE Physical issues: Abby was born with hip dysplasia with notable weakness in her back leg. For example, she can hop onto the couch, but often falls when getting down. She does not seem to have any pain with this, but needs assistance or assisted devices such as a puppy ramp to beds and couches. Due to neglect, Abby was malnourished several pounds underweight. Due to this and being left in a cage she has noticeable hair loss on her bottom When she arrived to us she had a sore on her bottom (which is healing now) from trying to sit in a small space for long periods of time and not enough 'padding' on her bottom. Emotional issues: Abby was raised by an elderly lady who loved her very much. She was a happy and energetic little girl who loved everyone. Sadly, her owner passed away about 10 months ago That is when Abby went to live elsewhere. During this time Abby was abused, caged in a small area with other dogs and underfed. Additional Information: Abby is not housebroken. She lives in our home with us and we have started this training. We don't crate, but crating is an option, if done properly and not for extended periods of time. Abby is a nipper. She takes very well to men but will be nippy at women when they reach for her neck, sides or bottom area. After about a week I am now able to do much more with her, but my husband can do just about anything we need to including put on a sweater. I have seen mild food aggression with other dogs and she is okay with older children. I will not home her with small children though because she is likely to bite them if feeling threatened (such as tugs and pulling on her). Abby needs to find a very special forever home dedicated to her and bring back that sweet loving little girl she truly is. If this is you then please contact me for an interview.
