About Shadow

Meet Shadow! Shadow is a 3-year old, 45-pound greyhound/lab mix located in Medford, MA. This loyal boy has never met a person he didn't like, and is one of those dogs who loves to please. He is neutered, up-to-date on shots, crate-trained, and housebroken. He can be left to roam when his person is away because he's not destructive and usually just sleeps. In keeping with his greyhound roots, Shadow loves running and is a great running partner. Besides walking, doing laps, and playing, Shadow loves affection and being a couch potato. He will curl up on a cushy spot for hours and binge watch your favorite shows with you. Shadow responds well to commands, performs tricks for treats, loves chewing on Nyla bones, and is good with car rides where he just lays in the back seat quietly. Shadow is up for adoption because he is not cut out for city life. Though he loves people, Shadow is fearful of other dogs which probably stems from being attacked in a dog park at 8 months old. His owner lives in a busy urban community which leaves Shadow very uneasy. To reduce his fear, Shadow attended a three-week board and train program and is now better at walking past other dogs, but still uncomfortable when in close contact with them. We know Shadow does very well in a low-traffic setting. He has a calm disposition when visiting his 'grandparents' who live in a quiet area. Therefore, Shadow's ideal owner will live in a quiet suburban or rural setting with a fenced-in yard and have experience with dogs who are fearful of other dogs. Shadow will be the only dog in the home. No cats or young children either.
