About Leia

This spicy little gal is Leia. She is a 3-4 years old, 26 pound Cattledog. If you're looking for a sassy little spitfire of a friend, have we got the dog for you! Princess Leia is an absolute lovebug to her person - as long as they're polite - but doesn't really want a bunch of other friends. Her first instinct is guard her person, not be besties with new people. She didn't enjoy going to work with her foster..too many people. She's still learning how to play with doggo friends, and a very tolerant cat who doesn't mind being chased and pounced on. She isn't gentle, so most cats will not like her. She doesn't know how much mouth to use, and thinks it's funny to try to pull you out of the bed by your foot. You have to be okay with a mouthy dog who will use her mouth to pull you outside for fun. She gets better every day, but her perfect person will need to be patient, kind, and able to not get pushed around. She had a rough time of it before coming to us, so she takes some time to really trust. She is the kind of dog who will trust just a few people and not care about any other folks. She will guard you in the shower, she will show you all the toys when you come home, she likes to wiggle her butt and then get belly rubs. However, she also wants to protect you...no, really from everyone, even your guests. She is a clever girl, with a good heart - and will need a human who can match that. She has basic obedience. She is nice on leash and good in the car. This not a dog park dog. This is not a meet and greet lots of people dog. She is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations. Adopters need to be able to meet her in SoCal. We cannot ship our dogs.
