About Guapo

This Catahoula mix is Guapo and he is 18 months old. Guapo was adopted out of Louisiana and is more active than his family can manage. They want him to be in a home that can keep him busy. Guapo is smart. He knows go to your Place (raised dog bed), go to your kennel, guapo come(when released from Place and in general to come), sit, and paw (for toweling dry his wet paws in the mornings). He is eager to learn and was an A student in obedience class. He walks nicely on leash and, when wearing a prong as a reminder not as a correction, he won't pull. Guapo is house trained and crate trained. Ina crate, he needs something like a Kong to keep his mind busy, or he will try to exit the crate. When meeting new people, he should go to his place (dog bed) or greet outside just in case he excitedly tinkles a bit. This is easily managed. Guapo loves men. He is nice with women. With little kids, he will herd them to give them kisses. He won't jump on someone but will stand on hind legs to give a hug as a greeting. He can be taught to stop giving hugs. Mostly, if you let him, he will cuddle with anyone who lets him. However, he thinks the vet is scary. He is muzzled just because he is scared, though he hasn't ever bitten. Guapo is good with all dogs, but small or older dogs can find his fun energy irritating. Medium sized and larger dogs who love to okay are Guapo's best friends. He makes friends easily. Guapo loves to play with dog ropes. He will shred it and turn it into a Pom Pom. Guapo is a fun adventure app al. He is good in the car and has even made a cross country car trip before, with no incidents. Guapo will appreciate a home where folks are around a lot, or he can go to work. He doesn't like to be left alone, but a sturdy crate for short periods of time works fine. At night, he loves to sleep in his crate. Guapo needs an active home, one that will keep him busy. As is standard for the breed, if he is bored, he will chew. If he is kept busy, he is an amazing boy. Guapo loves to cuddle and Is a goofy dog that always finds a way to make you smile or laugh.��%BD%A0For an active owner, Guapo is a great pal. Guapo is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations. We do not ship our dogs. He is available for a meeting and adoption in SoCal. A home visit and vet reference are required.
