About LOKI

Adoption Fee: $550
Border Terrier mix
Age: Young Puppy
Sex: Male

LOKI is not a border Terrier, however, the options of breed are limited and don't have mix or terrier or unknown as options. LOKI was saved with his four siblings from a high kill shelter in Texas where dogs have just 3 dogs to be saved and transported to the rescue in Sebec, Maine. LOKI is neutered, core vaccines, de-wormed, monthly preventatives and micro-chipped. He has an estimated date of birth of 16 June 2019 and at the time of rescue in the end of August 2019, weighed around 5.00 pounds. The shelter has a breed listing of Terrier Mix, however, we have no way of knowing the exact breed, it is up to individuals to decide what breed they think is most likely. LOKI is a puppy and would be best suited to a family who has another dog or other animals and be willing to ensure he has lots of socialization with other dogs and is willing to take training very seriously. He will be coming up to the age where he will be teething and chewing on anything and everything. A patient family who understands he is a baby and needs to learn and knows that having a puppy is a LOT of WORK. LOKI's siblings have all been adopted and he is left waiting her for his forever family. LOKI is just as adorable and sweet as he looks and since being at the rescue he has been doing great, he is a happy, confident, curious boy, who loves being around other dogs and exploring his surroundings. He can be a little shy at first but soon enjoys all the love, fuss and cuddles. Although we really have no idea what breed he is, we think he is most likely some kind of small / medium dog with possibly terrier mix. It is important to take into consideration that terriers are high energy and he is going to need an active family who has the lifestyle that can keep him not just mentally stimulated and of course physically active as he grows. He is fun and loving and loves playing, wrestling and chasing with the other dogs and pups. He uses the dog door to go out and play and do his business, but he doesn't know to let you know he wants to go outside and so house training is to be expected. He has not been around children since being at the rescue, but I have no doubt that if treated with respect and gently and given his space when he needs it there will be no problems at all. He is a puppy and the family and environment he grows up in will mold his behaviour and personality. LOKI has been around cats and he is curious but gentle with them, not really making too much of an interest. He is young so very impressionable and responsive. LOKI is available for adoption for an adoption fee of US $550. A $100 will be applied if adopting two pups / dogs. This fee is not negotiable and is used to cover the rescue costs of pulling, vetting, health certificate, transport from Texas to Maine, monthly preventatives, supplements, food, general day to day cost of running a brick and mortar rescue and anything else that is needed. Canadian adopters need to know that customs charge 15% taxes when entering into Canada.
