About Selene

Selene is an 8-month-old Amish puppy-mill survivor born in February. The miller released her for euthanasia due to her having a condition called Entropion (eye lids curls in causing the eye lashes to rub the eye) and a herniated umbilical cord. They couldn't sell her or breed her without doing the surgery to fix these issues. The vet contacted rescues, and we agreed to get her the care she desperately needed and deserved. The name Salene means the Goddess of the Moon. She came to us never experiencing a soft loving touch or the warmth of the sun. But today she is making great progress on her socialization skills and basic training. She is crate trained and doing very well with house training. She gets along with the other 4 dogs in her foster home. And she is much less fearful of noises than when we first met her.
