About Jewels

Hello, my name is Jewels. I am a 6 yr. old female Yorkie Terrier who weighs 9 lbs. and am silver and tan in color. I have a pretty smile and if you say 'smile', I'll put a big grin on my face and you can see all my white teeth. I came into PPR from a local shelter here in Dayton. I had some hair loss on my rear end (flea infestation) - but, it's coming back great. I also had an odor in my mouth - infection, so PPR made sure that I had a dental and had a few extractions. They also did some blood work to be sure that it wasn't something more serious. I'm a healthy girl now. Since coming into PPR, I have been spayed, all my shots have been updated, fecal and heartworm test along with a normal blood workup, dental, and micro-chipped. Yes, I got the works. I would be a great 2nd dog for someone who has Yorkie experience. We are a breed all our own. I am a laid back girl who prefers a quiet household. I do enjoy my naps! I also enjoy meal time. I will need continued house-training. I do great for a while and then have a set-back. I do go outside, but have had some pee accidents in the house. It might be I'm just marking after all the dogs here. There are a lot of us Yorkies here and we're trying to get more of our foster mom's attention. My foster mom says - cleaning up a mess is not the way to win extra points for treats! My foster mom tells me that I'm a gem. I'm a good Yorkie who needs a 2nd chance. I was groomed a few weeks ago. I did well at the doggie salon. I enjoy being pampered. I believe my ideal home would be with someone who is home all day who can monitor my potty breaks and go out into the fenced yard with me to make sure that I go. My foster mom makes all of us go back out in the yard if she didn't see us go, and most of the time it works. I have not been around young children or cats. I would have to be tested. Most of the time, Yorkies are not well suited for young children because of our size and temperament.
