About Giovanni

Giovanni 'JoJo' is 5.5 years old and is house trained. He loves his bed and a big stuffed animal to snuggle and nurse. He was raised with another male dog and they eventually became rivals- we believe this is where most of his personality and behavior issues stemmed from. Although well socialized as a pup and as a young adult, he slowly became more and more protective and guarding. He does not like going new places or meeting new people and is extremely loyal to his family . Because of Giovanni's social and protective nature we are looking for a situation where he will be kept in a home with no children, small dogs or cats. He would likely do well with a female dog of medium to large size and similar age and energy. We are also wanting a home where the new owner woulld be very familiar and experienced with dogs with protective and aggressive tendencies . Our main reason for wanting to relocate Giovanni is the ongoing rivalry with our other male dog- we believe there is a more comfortable and peaceful situation out there for JoJo. He is very submissive, sweet and loving with his human household members and eventually learns to trust regular visitors whom he has met regularly and been introduced to appropriately. He is very food driven and food is definitely the fast path to earn his trust and heart.
