About Joel

Joel is a jovial, approximate 8-year-old, 17-pound Pom who takes everything in stride and goes with the flow. He is a delight to have in your home...he can be playful and laid back...whatever mood you are in, Joel is sure to follow suit. He is great with all animals and humans of all ages. Because of his previous life, Joel inhales his food and will quickly rush to eat other dogs' food. That's an easy fix...just contain him to a separate room when feeding. He was not house trained when he came, but thanks to a quick neuter, his belly band is always dry. He has no quirks whatsoever. He just wants a human to play with and love. Joel is being treated for Lyme disease, but as with most Lyme-positive pups, he does not show any symptoms and it does not stop him whatsoever. His skin is also recovering from a matted coat and flea infestation, but he is healing beautifully. A quiet Grade I heart murmur was detected, and the vet believes it may even resolve on its own. Joel does not cough at all on a given day; however, his trachea does becoming irritated when walking on a harness; therefore, he would do best in a home with a fenced yard. Joel's belly is no fan of car rides, so we keep Cerenia on hand to calm his stomach before any trips. He is current on core vaccines, neutered, and microchipped.
