About Rue *courtesy post*

Lab mix
Age: Adult
Sex: Female

Rue is a playful 5 year old lab/hound mix seeking a home that includes a sibling, a spacious fenced yard, and a lifetime running partner. She is very affectionate and loyal, interacting well with other friendly dogs and cats! Her favorite things are running/hiking through the local state parks, learning new tricks at puppy classes, going to town on her bully sticks and kongs, attending day-camp, and playing on the beach. Rue's best quality is her intelligence. She is as smart as they come and subsequently a highly trainable, food-motivated dog. She knows all basic commands including wait, leave it, and stay. She is also leash trained and kennel trained. She'd likely be a great athlete if given the opportunity. Some of her favorite treats are ice, peanut butter, livers, cheese, bully sticks, eggs, and just about anything else. She has a stomach of steel and can tolerate most dog-safe foods. No allergies or other precautions necessary. Rue spends her day lounging in the sunlight, eating meals from puzzle toys, cuddling her kitty brother, going for a walk, and sleeping next to her human in her own designer bed. She catches frisbees, takes pride in all of her commands and tricks, loves chewing on sticks, rolling in mud holes, wading through creeks, and visiting her grammy. Her zodiac sign is Gemini. I quote you not: 'the Gemini is a quick learner, loves exercise, has a quick wit and is affectionate.' You should expect all of the kisses and cuddles with this love bug. Rue is as healthy as an ox, weighing in at 50 lbs. She is up to date on all vaccinations, is microchipped and spayed, takes heart-worm and flea preventatives regularly, heart-worm negative, and also just had her pearly whites cleaned. She cannot be in a home with children, due to lack of exposure and improper introductions. She gets a kick out of fence fighting so a privacy fence or secluded yard would be best. She can also be wary of strangers in her home, but if the situation is handled proactively she warms up quickly. She is reactive off leash, but a bark collar has helped tremendously with this. We recently completed Reactive Dog Training Group Class with Teamworks Dog Training as well as a boot camp session with Hooks K9 . She does not have a bite history. She enjoys small groups of dogs at day care, rather than larger groups as these cause her anxiety. *This is a courtesy listing.
