About Roco (East)

Roco- A3956235 At risk for length of stay been at shelter over 90 days and reactivity at shelter kids 12+ strong active boy: Have you met Roco yet!? Our shelter's longest resident (intake July 10th) recently enjoyed a fun day foster with one of our volunteers. Check it out: 'Roco went to a few places today: Kiwanis Park, Pet's Mart, and Tempe Beach Park. He met a few strangers today and he can be shy at first, but he quickly warms up. He let all of them pet him, but didn't take any treats from the Pet's Mart worker. He enjoyed the parks a lot and behaved very well at Pet's Mart (I don't take all my day fosters there since there are other animals in there unless I think they'll be okay--that's how behaved he was). I did not hear a peep from him the whole time we were together. He walks well on the leash and has done fine with dogs his size and children and adults (not sure on small dogs). He wasn't reactive towards any of the dogs he saw today (small/medium to large). Certain noises seem to freak him out (when we went under a bridge the clicking noises from the cars going over it freaked him out and he ran as fast as he I would let him away from the bridge), so I hope he finds a quiet home that'll give him time to open up. Roco was mostly mellow the whole time. He was not overly affectionate with me, but he seemed to look to me for reassurance- when someone from the park came up to him at the end of our day foster, he tried to hide behind me until he felt comfortable enough to approach the person.'
