SAY HELLO TO McGOVERN! McGovern is a very handsome 12 years young Maltese/Poodle mix Senior boy. Weighing in a 20 pounds, McGovern was abandoned by his owners at a Veterinarian's office. He was left tied to a doorknob waiting for them to return, however no one ever came back. His life prior to us was likely not the best. When we came for him, he was in terrible condition. We took him straight to our Veterinarian as his mouth was painful with the most rotten and infected teeth. He had all of his teeth removed because of their horrible condition, but he feels so much better! Mr McGovern is doing so good. He is very sweet and quiet and can even be a bit playful! He gets on well with his foster mates as long as they aren't too excitable and bother him. He has no health issues other than a perineal hernia which has been determined will cause him no problems. He is leash trained, rides politely in the car and greets all he meets with a smile and a tail wag. McGovern is house trained however like all rescues, he will need gentle guidance and patience as he learns his new family's routine. He does NOT like to be crated so if crating is part of your routine, McGovern is not the pup for you! McGovern's family will be adults or adults with kids over the age of 14 who have experience, gentle hands and respect for small dogs like McGovern. He really will make a wonderful companion for your family! McGovern is a longer coated breed that will require regular brushing as well as professional grooming every 6 to 8 weeks. McGovern's adoption fee is $ 200.00 This fee includes his Veterinarian Wellness checks while here at the rescue, all vaccinations including rabies and bordatella, a complete dental with tooth extractions, de-worming, a pre-adoption professional groom and a microchip with lifetime membership. McGovern will also have a new collar and leash as well as a gift bag which includes among other things, a starter bag of the quality grain free kibble that he has been eating. His adoption fee also allows us the ability to put funds towards the next little one in need of rescue!
