About Cooper

I rescued Cooper, a 1 year old 110lb mastiff mix this summer. He came from a crummy situation not of his own making. Unsocialized, not neutered, no flea or tic control, under weight... so neglected of boundaries and education. I have gotten him utd on shots and flea and tick control, vet checked, working on dog socializing him with my two dogs and thought it has been going well. Unfortunately, he's been on a waiting list at PAWS to get neutered, but they are booked out until February. I am disabled, living on little and just trying to do the best I can by him. Unfortunately, he seems to be unpredictable and dog aggressive. He attacked a friend's dog and would have killed him if we hadn't have been there to pry them apart. Two people were sent to the ER from this as they sustained injuries in breaking up the fight. Today he attacked my 6 yo pit mix over a bone he had stashed under the ottoman. My dog was just walking by and it was instant and like Cooper was a completely different dog. I believe that even though I love his big cuddly face I am not the best home for him. I am worried that under my care someone, dog or human, is going to get hurt. He really is an amazing smart SUPER LOVING boy. But I am in way over my head. I will not allow him to go somewhere he will be hurt or put down. He deserves better than that. People have failed him enough.
