About Shelite

Shelite aka 'Shelly' is a remarkable dog working to find her furever home. Shelite's past is one that will cause you to pause. Her face and head show the horrific outcome of what she has endured. Her heightened level of stranger danger tells us that her abuse created scars very deep. Shelite is currently in a foster home where she has been getting social and anxiety therapy. She is working on trust and just wants to cuddle and know that she is safe. Shelite is very loving and she often shows her playful side with her foster sisters and brother. She is doing well with small and large dogs, male and female. She is also very loving to her foster mama and teenage foster brother. Even though she is particularly fearful of males, she is making progress allowing her foster dad to let her get close to her. Shelite isn't ready for a furever home yet, but that is her goal. Anyone who is interested in Shelite will need to be properly introduced to her and work with her over time to build trust. She requires calm, patience and love.
