Special Needs: Ear infections What kind of home would be best for me: We are seeking a home with a very experienced dog owner. Owen needs an experienced poodle owner who knows how to handle a strong-willed standard poodle. He would do best in an adult only home with no other dogs or 1 laid back female dog. What is my personality like: Owen is a classic standard poodle! He is strong willed and needs a firm owner to guide him. Owen is very high energy and needs an owner who can keep up with him. We think he was on his own for a while and it made him even more independent than the breed normally is anyway. He's tough, street smart and ready to take care of himself. He will warm up but you are going to earn this one's trust. How do I act when I first meet new people: Owen is very cautious about new people. He needs time to warm up. Once he knows you, he is excited to see his people! Tips and Tidbits: Owen's estimated birthday is 04/03/2008. Owen has great potential but can be picky about the people he allows in his life. He needs a patient owner who understands he needs time to open up. Owen will resource guard his food and toys. His owner will know how to work with this to continue desensitizing him. House trained: Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.
