About Winnie

Adoption Fee: $200
Jack Russell
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

Winnie is a pocket Jack Russell who was adopted from a breeder hoarding situation in SC in early 2019. The adoptive couple had her 7 months and realized she needed more than they could give her (TIME!). They were retired but there were no other dogs in the home. Winnie does best when she is not alone. The activity of the pups in her foster home make her so very comfortable! She just gets to go do her thing! Winnie weighs barely 10# and is such a sweet, yet extremely skittish, formerly over-bred terrier. She has pretty rough PTSD and trust is hard to come by. But what she lacks in trust she makes up for in happiness. This little 4yo half pint is just HAPPY! She will follow you around like velcro and slide on over for a ear scratch. She has a hard time allowing you to scratch her bum, which will come in time with trust. Asking her to hop in to her crate for bed time is tedious (but we have many Jacks at her foster home so she must sleep in one) but once there she is quiet and content. Winnie is a chunky monkey and eats everything in sight so NO free-feeding! She also gurgles and talks when she eats, which is super hilarious! She rides well in the car and gets along with every dog she meets. Children would cause her too much anxiety. We prefer a home with someone who is retired or works from home, and can just LOVE on her. She just needs slow handling. She is housetrained, UTD on vaccines and spayed. We will be very cautious with her adopter, she will need patience and understanding. We adore her!
