About Copper

This is Copper, an 11 pound, 10 week old Chihuahua mix puppy. He was left behind, living outside, when his owners moved away. Thankfully a neighbor got him and kept him safe till he came to us. He hadn't been taken care of much before he was abandoned. He didn't even have a name! Copper is a timid little guy, but he loves to be cuddled and is a very sweet boy. He can be a little shy with new people and dogs at first, but it doesn't take him too long to get comfortable. The neighbor who picked him up believes he was rough-housed by his former owner's kids, but he was fine with a 10 year old recently. He does great with other dogs and cats. Copper is working on his potty training skills and is doing well. He likes to play, but will snuggle up to you when he's tired and he loves sleeping in the bed with you at night. Copper has been to the vet for a wellness check, has been fecal tested, is up to date on shots, and microchipped with a lifetime registration. His rabies vaccine and his neuter will be done as soon as he's old enough, and are covered by the rescue as long as they are done at our vet.
