For more pictures go to cnps.petfinder.com then click on 'view our pets' and scroll Penelope Pitstop is a beautiful blue cross eyed short hair female approx. 1yr. She has a coat of white, tan and cr̬me and tiny polydactyl feet. Her adoption fee is $75. She has been vetted, spayed and is Leuk and FIV negative. She is good with other cats, calm dogs and older kids. Sadly many people move and leave their pets behind without food, water or shelter. They are then found scavenging by the dumpsters or they make their way to a feral cat feeding station. A feeding station is where feral-wild cats are TNR'd - trapped neutered released and fed. Cats form colonies like this because irresponsible people abandon them, tossing them out like trash. They roam to find food then a loving caring concerned citizen starts feeding these starving cats forming a feeding station. They get TNR'd to prevent kittens, ear tipped so others know that these cats are fixed. The cats 'work' for us taking care of the mice, roof rats, scorpions and roaches, but they must be fixed. The 'wild' ones will survive because they are smart enough to elude predators and sick people. The 'tame' ones will not survive and need to be taken in, they aren't smart. PETS ARE FAMILY MEMBERS. PLEASE GET HELP IF YOU CAN NOT KEEP A PET. MAKE THE EFFORT! IT'S A LIFE! You can see in the pictures how comfortable Penelope is and what a sweetheart but it took her several weeks to trust again. The trauma of being tossed out like trash and having to fend for herself was devastating and she needed time to heal. Once she has adjusted to her new home she is very social and will be out with the other kitties, playing with her toys, cuddling with or wrestling with her buddy Winston Willowbee who is also up for adoption. Because of her slightly cross eyes she is cautious when a hand comes at her face so petting her body first will give her assurance. She loves getting attention from her people, pet and loved. She is a talker and will follow you around the house. She is outgoing and social. She has been free fed quality hard food (the first ingredient beginning with meat) and gets canned food morning and night. She is young and playful and needs a kitten or young cat to play with (ck out Winston Willowbee!) She loves interactive toys like feather on a stick and shoe lace drag as well as the Fling ama String and the $2 'cat dancer' toys. She loves treats and a tall cat tree sitting in front of the window with the sun rays beaming in and she also loves the corrugated cardboard rectangle scratcher that sits on the floor. Below information is for preventative purposes'| Too many male AND female cats are getting the UTI - urinary tract infection and crystals in their urine. It's a blockage, it's painful and if ignored will lead to death. Vets say the hard food is at fault because it does not deliver enough liquids. It's simple to monitor. Just make sure there is at least one good size pee ball in the litter box a day. Kitty fountains are effective to help manage a cats fluids. A good quality canned food pate diet is better than dry food however there are some dry food that are pH balanced and help maintain Urinary Tract - UT health like Blue Buffalo, Purina Pro Plan, Purina One UT health, Iams UT health. AVOID FISH! Cats/Kittens are an 18 year commitment! They need a cat tree, laser lite, inside home ADOPT Penelope Pitstop FOR LIFE!
